WWE SummerSlam 2021 turned out to be one of the most talked-about PPV of the year. But the real deal was the unexpected return of “The Man” Becky Lynch to challenge Bianca Belair for the SmackDown Women’s Championship. Well, it was not the return that surprised the most, but the way Lynch squashed Belair to win the title.

Reports suggest Bianca Belair was in good spirit after her shocking loss to Becky Lynch

Bianca Belair was literally the EST of WWE for the past few months. The former WWE SmackDown Women’s champion had a dominating run. The return of Becky Lynch was in the making for quite some time. However, fans never had a clear idea about when she would return. Eventually, Lynch made a surprise return to WWE at SummerSlam and squashed Bianca.

Reports from Fightful have revealed that only a few in backstage knew about the return of Becky Lynch. However, Carmella, who fit in as a replacement for Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair, was informed about the return of Lynch well before their match.

The reports also mention how much the WWE officials were impressed with the reaction of Bianca Belair after getting squashed by Becky. Bianca took the loss in good spirit and quickly got ready to attend WWE’s red carpet after-party and other media appearances with a smile on her face.

An actual plan in motion for the Becky-Bianca story

As per the reports from Fightful, many backstage sources have confirmed that WWE has an actual plan in motion for this story between Bianca Belair and Becky. The biggest takeaway from the return of Becky Lynch at SummerSlam was the reaction of the WWE Universe.

The fans showed their rage towards WWE for squashing Bianca, who was turning out to be an enormous figure in the WWE women’s locker room.

Fans who rooted for Becky before her hiatus have now turned against her after what happened at SummerSlam. Lynch was on the receiving end of many boos in the last few WWE shows. Bianca challenged Becky for a match on the latest episode of WWE SmackDown, but Becky turned her down.

But after the interventions of Deville and Adam Pierce, it looks like Becky will face Belair at Extreme Rules. The next episode of SmackDown at Madison Square Garden will feature the duo’s contract signing.
