Impact Wrestling started in 2002 as an alternative to the world-famous WWE. When Vince McMahon‘s promotion was touching new heights in the early 2000s and the Attitude Era, TNA was still able to secure a good number of views partly because of the unique identity they adopted throughout their business years. A WWE legend wants the company to adopt one of these practices back.
Kurt Angle was a wrestler who had plenty of experience with different wrestling rings. However, according to the wrestler, TNA was better off when they didn’t stick to the classic four-sided ring and had six sides instead.

Kurt Angle recently sat down on The Kurt Angle Show alongside his old friend Hulk Hogan. During the podcast episode, the two conversed about TNA’s presence in the pro wrestling industry. While talking, Angle revealed that he would prefer it if the promotion went back to their old hexagonal rings.
It all started in 2004 but was discontinued in 2010 when they brought back the traditional squared circle. The six-sided ring returned in 2014 only to be changed back to the four-sided one in 2018. The TNA Hall of Famer said, “I think it’s a great idea. I’ll tell you this, the six-sided ring is a lot faster. Guys are coming off the ropes quicker because it’s a smaller ring. I think that’s why TNA, it’s really action-packed because there’s not a lot of dead time.”
According to Angle, the wrestling promotion needs to bring back the six-sided ring to keep its unique identity and also maintain its ‘impact’ on the audience.
The Olympic medalist sees the WWE rival-turned-potential-collaborator undergoing certain changes and makes this point, supporting that it would be a great idea for them to bring it back.
