There are very few WWE superstars or professional wrestlers who are 6.5 ft., 280 pounds and are still extremely agile in the ring. Brock Lesnar, though, is one that possesses all three qualities, which makes him a scary opponent to face.

‘The Beast Incarnate’, is popular worldwide, but he lives a private life. He lives on a farm and enjoys the life that he lived with his parents and siblings as a kid. Not many people know about Lesnar’s parents, as they never appeared much in the spotlight.

Sometime back WWE Legend and current AEW Commentator Jim Ross appeared for an interview with talkSPORTS. There he shared about having a conversation with Brock Lesnar’s parents and talked about his father.

Ross said, “You don’t get guys that are six-foot-four, 270lbs with that kind of athletic background. He’d already proven in the amateur world that he was the best there was at heavyweight. I’d met his mother and his father, we try to recruit the right way.”

He added, “We want to know everybody. For you to know our family, I got to know your family a little bit. His dad was just as big as Brock. He was a farmer in South Dakota. A real good man. A hard-working, salt of the earth human being.”

‘The Beast Incarnate’ grew up on a dairy farm as a kid. His father Richard Lesnar was a farmer and hence Brock Lesnar did a lot of farming in his younger days.

Jim Ross and Gerald Brisco had seen Lesnar in amateur wrestling matches and wanted to sign him.

Ross in the interview claimed that they would have signed Lesnar a year ahead, but instead made a deal with his coach, who was Brisco’s colleague. The Beast wrestled in his final year of college, his senior year, and he won the national championship. He was an All-American, and he was the number one amateur wrestler in America.

Vince McMahon’s reaction to watching Brock Lesnar for the first time in person

Brock Lesnar is a physical specimen and anyone who watches him for the first time is bound to be surprised. Vince McMahon had the same reaction when he saw Lesnar after Brisco and Ross brought him to a TV taping in Minneapolis.

Ross said, “So McMahon is walking about with his Mr. McMahon walk and he happens to glance over and Gerry Brisco is standing by this monster. Vince made a U-turn and beelined right to Brock – he had never seen him. Never watched him wrestle.”

He added, “So when Vince laid eyes on him he knew that we had the guy. If he had any aptitude whatsoever – we knew athletically he was going to be great, he’d already proven himself as an athlete – but if he could get the showbiz side of it and have the aptitude to be a pro wrestler, he was going to be our guy for a while. And that worked out.”
