There’s no denying that Dwayne Johnson is one of the most loved wrestlers and actors today. In fact, according to private political party surveys, many Americans are actively willing to vote for him as the President. One of the biggest reasons for this is the humility of Johnson, which was recently vouched for by Kurt Angle.

WWE and TNA Hall of Famer Kurt Angle recently made a very positive statement about Dwayne Johnson in his podcast. The statement comes right after Johnson’s appearance in Trevor Noah’s ‘What Now?’ Podcast, where The Rock revealed he was offered a clear position to run for President.

Kurt Angle speaks up on Dwayne Johnson and his apolitical nature

The Kurt Angle Show recently released its 138th episode where Angle noted that Dwayne Johnson didn’t display an interest in any politics. While The Rock has a highly competitive nature, his will to win never spilled out of the WWE ring.

According to Kurt Angle, “Rock was never political. He never got involved with any of the finishes. He always did what he was told to do. And that’s what I loved about rock. He always…. he always took the um high road and he never… never tried to, you know, go behind someone’s back and try to get a finish change.”

This showcases that The Rock never used his influence to sway things with the creative team despite his massive star power.

This falls perfectly in line with Johnson’s statement, where the Hollywood star revealed that he rejected offers from both dominant political parties of the US to run for President.

The parties gave him assurances by suggesting that he would definitely secure the victory if he decided to contest. However, admitting that there are many aspects of politics he hates, Johnson refused.

While it’s clear that Johnson totally dislikes politics, there was another reason he declined such a handsome offer from both parties. In fact, this is also the reason he regretted his career as a wrestler.

The real reason The Rock doesn’t want to do anything with politics

The Rock is known for bringing WWE’s second brand SmackDown to the limelight. Being the megastar of WWE, he was constantly on the road, and hence, away from his family. Citing this reason to Trevor Noah on What Now? podcast, Dwayne Johnson said, “I’ve got little ones. I have three daughters.”

Johnson further added, “I know what it’s like to be in an occupation that took me away…I don’t want that for my little ones now. And so, that was my – one of my primary discussions with the parties, who ultimately were like, ‘Yeah but, the other ones have done it like this!’”

While every politician has a family, it is a duty they willingly undertook when they stood for the elections.

However, Dwayne Johnson doesn’t want a repetition of the same fate for his young girls, that Simone had to go through. Thus, while his dislike for politics is evident, the real reason why he chooses to be unaffiliated with politics is his love for his daughters.
