The Undertaker has done everything in the wrestling business. It never mattered how long his championship reign was or whether he will be relevant or not. The Phenom is an everlasting performer who changed the landscape of the industry.

However, WWE legend and the voice of wrestling Jim Ross thinks that ‘Taker is underrated in one aspect of his career. Apart from putting on classic one on one matches against the likes of Shawn Michaels, Stone Cold Steve Austin, or The Rock, the Phenom also showed the WWE Universe his versatility in gimmick matches, like Ladder matches, Inferno matches, or Hardcore matches. The Undertaker shone in every kind of match he wrestled.

Now, there have been certain wrestlers that have rarely performed matches outside of their comfort zones. However, the Deadman always delivered what was asked of him.

Jim Ross thinks Undertaker is a genius between the ropes

Speaking on his ‘Grilling JR’ podcast, he talked about Undertaker’s ability to put on non-traditional one-on-one matches in WWE.

JR took the example of The Phenom‘s performance in a ladder match against Jeff Hardy or the Hardcore match against RVD at the Vengeance PPV back in 2001.

Back in the early 2000s, when Undertaker changed his gimmick to the American Badass, he started exploring different match types with different opponents.

Eventually, he put forth. brilliant performances against the likes of RVD, Kane, Jeff Hardy, and Brock Lesnar. However, his ability to work with different stipulations often gets overlooked.

JR confessed that this side of Taker is often forgotten and said that he is multi-talented” in the ring.

“Taker [Undertaker] is multi-talented. He’s got a great head for the business and somebody like him could evaluate a Jeff Hardy or a hardcore match with RVD [Rob Van Dam], and come up with a plan that he thought was gonna work to accomplish what the booker wanted at the end of the night… He’s very underrated.” Ross confessed.

Throughout his career, ‘Taker delivered absolutely breath-taking performances inside the ring.
