Post-2003, The Rock had a handful of matches in WWE. It was the time Dwayne Johnson went on a path to fully transition into an actor in Hollywood. Even in those handful of matches, he gave his best and made the fans remember those moments forever. But not all matches post-2003 were singles matches, as there was a tag team match and a 3 on 2 handicap match at WrestleMania 20.

Surprisingly, Mick Foley claims he gave one of the ‘disappointing’ performances in one of the final matches of ‘The Great One’.

Despite transitioning into Hollywood at the end of 2003 and being away from the ring for a long time, The Rock rarely had a bad match in WWE. But his Attitude Era tag team partner Mick Foley claims to give a performance is not proud of at WrestleMania 20.

The ‘Rock n’ Sock Connection’ took on Evolution in a three-on-two handicap match at the grandest stage in 2004. The Hardcore legend recently reflected on his disappointing performance in that match while talking on Foley is Pod podcast.

Foley said, “I crawled into a, I retreated into a shower. I don’t I spoke up and offered that opinion…I didn’t interject and I didn’t take steps to make it the best match that I had the best performance that I can have.”

He added, “And then I was just happy to see those guys. It was almost like dreaded to getting the tag because I didn’t feel like, I hope I’m not beating a dead horse here when I talk about how disappointed I was in myself.”

“But you know the success I had in my career was about overcoming doubts and conquering those insecurities. And on that day I lost out those insecurities and those doubts,” The WWE Hall of Famer said.

However, even if for Foley this was a disappointing performance by him, the match is still a memorable one. The WWE universe got to see ‘The Rock n’ Sock Connection’ teaming for one last time. However, Foley’s moment came a month later against Randy Orton.

Mick Foley got his confidence back against a match with Randy Orton

Following a handicap match which The Viper holds high in his WWE career, Foley and Orton continued the feud. They faced each other in one of the brutal matches in WWE at Backlash in 2004. It was a Hardcore match for the Intercontinental Championship. The match saw Orton come out on top but not before being put through hell by Foley, whose performance was loved by fans.
