WWE Legend John Cena Was a Cody Rhodes ‘Mark’ and There’s Proof

John Cena and Cody Rhodes have not worked together for a long time. But in the past, both of them had spent a lot of time together in WWE.

In fact, Cena once walked around backstage singing Cody Rhodes’ Smoke and Mirrors theme song. Not only John Cena, but several fans also love Cody’s theme song.

Recently, there has been so much speculation about Cody’s return. And if Cody finally returns to WWE, fans might once again get to hear his Smoke and Mirrors theme song.

Both Cody Rhodes and John Cena have been in the news lately because of their rumored WWE returns.

After leaving AEW, WWE looks like the next probable destination for the former WWE Intercontinental Champion. In recent times, there have been reports claiming Cody is soon going to sign for WWE and will be a part of WrestleMania 38.

Coming to Cena, he is currently busy with his Hollywood films. But once his Hollywood schedule lightens, fans can certainly expect the former WWE Champion to return to WWE.

When did Cody Rhodes and John Cena last compete in WWE?

Cody Rhodes had a long time in WWE before leaving the company in 2016. The former AEW superstar competed against several top stars of the company and had been involved in many interesting storylines as well.

He is a former WWE Intercontinental Champion, WWE Tag Team Champion, and World Tag Team Champion. His last match in WWE came against Zack Ryder on WWE Superstars.

As for John Cena, he returned to WWE television at WWE Money in the Bank 2021 Premium Live Event. Following his return, Cena even competed against Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship at WWE SummerSlam 2021.

But after fighting for over 20 minutes, Reigns finally won the match. A few days later, John Cena teamed with Rey Mysterio and Dominik Mysterio to defeat The Bloodline. This was his last WWE till now.
