The second run of Bobby Lashley in Vince McMahon’s company has been a dream run for the former WWE champion and his fans. However, it was not always the case, as until 2020, things did not quite go Lashley’s way.

‘The Almighty’ was first paired up with former WWE superstar Lio Rush and then had an underwhelming feud with Roman Reigns. However, when Lashley got involved in a kayfabe love triangle between Rusev and Lana, it looked like the final stroke for Lashley’s WWE career.

Eventually, Lashley struck gold when he paired with the former Intercontinental champion MVP and formed The Hurt Business alongside Shelton Benjamin and Cedric Alexander.

MVP recently revealed in an interview that it was Paul Heyman who was responsible for pairing ‘The Almighty’ with him, which resulted in a huge push for Lashley.

Speaking on the latest episode of the Out of Character‘ podcast, MVP revealed that Heyman pictured him and Lashley together and it was the chemistry between him and Lashley that helped Lashley in the main event.

“It was something that Paul Heyman wanted to do. And bless him for it. Because, you know, Bobby [Lashley] and I have a very natural chemistry and we work well together because we’re actual friends.”

He added, “Once it came together, you know, Bobby and I continue to throw ideas at each other. And fortunately, the door was open for us to put in a lot of input regarding, you know, where we went creatively.”

The duo of Lashley and MVP instantly clicked and ‘The Almighty‘ quickly capitalized on it and grabbed the WWE Championship.
