After winning the Royal Rumble, Edge has been the talk of the town. Why wouldn’t he be? He came from #1 all the way till the end, tossing his arch-nemesis Randy Orton out to win the 30-man match. While we confirmed an appearance on SmackDown, the Rated-R Superstar will appear on NXT.
Edge to appear on WWE NXT!
NXT does not play host to main roster stars, especially during WrestleMania season. The main roster focuses on providing the best content to keep fans hyped for WrestleMania, and NXT stars focus on building to the next Takeover. Hence, Edge’s appearance on NXT is bound to be a headline-making one.

One might assume that Edge is heading down to the Capitol Wrestling Center to boost ratings amidst the Wednesday Night Wars. NXT has been doing well without Edge in the wars, but has not had a definite win in a long time. Apart from ratings, his appearance can be attributed to a potential WrestleMania challenge.
In 2020, Rumble winner Charlotte Flair challenged Rhea Ripley for the NXT Championship. The women stole the show at WrestleMania, and even at the following NXT Takeover. Could something similar be in store for Finn Balor? The Prince vs The Rated-R Superstar has a nice ring to it, and Edge can add another belt to his brilliant collection.

Rooting for #Edge is not hypocrisy. He is a FULL TIME wrestler. Yes he’s 47. Yes he returned last year after 9(!) years so we’re nostalgic. But he came back to be FULL TIME. His return in the #RoyalRumble was from INJURY, not the couch. He is NOT #Goldberg. #WWE #PartTimers

The teasing of a match with the NXT Champion, a potential dream match with Roman Reigns, and the boost in ratings are bonuses to Edge’s transition from part-timer to full-timer. Fear of over-exposing the legend is prevalent, but WWE has the opportunity to fight multiple birds with one stone.
