The war is on. Over the last few months, we have seen AEW and WWE firing shots at each other, whether it is the AEW president, the AEW superstars, the WWE superstars, or the WWE legends like Eric Bischoff and Booker T. The latest AEW superstar who fired a shot at WWE is none other than the former WWE Champion, CM Punk.
During last week’s episode of AEW Dynamite, Punk told MJF that the only way he can be number one is if they all wait long enough for Tony Khan to have a daughter whom MJF can marry. This comment made by Punk was actually an indirect reference to Triple H, who married the WWE chairman’s daughter, Stephanie McMahon.
On one of the latest episodes on his Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T called out CM Punk for trying to get a “cheap pop” by giving reference to Triple H.

He said, “I’ve always been willing to say in somebody’s face what I wanted to get off my chest. I’ve never wanted to go and hide somewhere and get a cheap pop talking about someone, especially someone I respect, who has done it the way we all have –that’s going out there and entertaining fans in America and abroad, you know, what I mean, blood, sweat and tears. He (Triple H) is one of those guys who is one of the pillars of WWE, always will be.”
During the episode, Booker T even claimed that before Triple H married Stephanie, he was a bigger star than Punk. However, Booker T admitted after marrying Stephanie, it was obvious that he would become a bigger star after marriage, as he became a part of the family.

Who are the other WWE superstars who got mentioned during the AEW Dynamite segment between CM Punk and MJF?
Apart from Triple H, there were other WWE superstars who got mentioned during last week’s segment between MJF and Punk. MJF fired a shot at Punk by claiming that he has always been number two throughout his career. Whether it was the ‘You can’t see me man’ or the ‘King of Kings’. MJF referred John Cena as the ‘You can’t see me man’ and to Triple H as the ‘King of Kings’.
CM Punk also took a dig at MJF by calling him a “less famous Miz”. This week on WWE Raw, we saw The Miz return and get involved in a heated segment with Edge. Even in that segment, Edge gave a reference to last week’s CM Punk-MJF promo. Edge claimed The Miz had people in other shows saying his name just to get a cheap reaction.
