Matt Hardy recently claimed on Twitter that Vince McMahon insisted that the Hardy Boyz return to WWE in 2017. According to Matt, it was because of the howling success of the ‘Broken Hardy’ gimmick on TNA.
The Hardys became two of the most over wrestlers in the business at the time, and they still are. Matt also revealed that even though Vince McMahon wanted and brought them back to WWE, he simply didn’t understand the gimmick very well.
