The wrestling world was just recovering from the post-WrestleMania releases when WWE dropped another bomb on the fans by releasing some more.
While this is devastating news for those wrestlers, it is somewhat of a good news for the young and upcoming wrestlers at the Performance Center.
Plainly speaking, newer talents won’t be able to break through into the main roster if the older wrestlers are still occupying the space. This sounds really bad, but in terms of business, it might be logical for the higher-ups in WWE.
By releasing a wrestler like ‘The Monster Among Men’ Braun Strowman, who, as per several reports, was employed on a hefty contract, WWE has made significant savings in the financial area.
The new talents cannot ask for a high paycheck like the one Braun had. However, in WWE’s defense, it is indeed tough to keep paying big bucks while business suffers pandemic-induced losses.

Probable reasons for WWE releasing Superstars
Just to put things into perspective, here is the full list of wrestlers who have been released: Braun Strowman, Aleister Black, Ruby Riott, Lana, Santana Garrett, Buddy Murphy.
In some reports, it was revealed that some Superstars actually wanted out of the promotion. So, for them, it might actually be a blessing in disguise.
However, it might come back to haunt WWE. Their competitors, AEW, have a pretty good record of nabbing released WWE Superstars and launching them into superstardom.
Miro and Cody Rhodes are excellent examples of the same. Both superstars had immense potential, but WWE just couldn’t utilize it to the fullest.
Some of these names are people who were looking to get released.
WWE has taken a very different approach when it comes to this.

As of now, there has been no official confirmation as to where these wrestlers will end up, but one might want to keep an eye on AEW.
