During a Supercut of episodes, Bruce Prichard revealed how The Rock reacted right after Shawn Michaels secured the victory from Bret Hart after Vince McMahon had the bell go off even when Hart didn’t tap out.
“The guys just didn’t understand it. They didn’t understand everything that had taken place prior to that night in Montreal. So, The Rock being a traditional from a wrestling family was unhappy about it. And, didn’t know exactly what to do or really how to take it. The Montreal Screwjob continues to be one of the most messed up segments WWE has ever worked on throughout history. But, over time, Bret Hart let the bitterness go, and made up with Vince McMahon.
