During his interview on The Kurt Angle Show podcast, Kurt made a surprising revelation that Vince McMahon let them decide the winner of their WrestleMania 21 match.
He said, “Well I knew we were gonna have another match and the reason is at WrestleMania, Vince let us decide which one of us would be the winner. And Shawn elected to do the job for me. He said hey I want you to make me tap out. You know I thought I thought you know what?I am gonna end up giving him back that favor eventually somewhere along the line.”
After their classic WrestleMania match, the two icons would meet again at Vengeance in the same year. Speaking about having another match with Michaels he continued, “So I knew that Shawn I weren’t gonna be done wrestling specially with the classic match we had at WrestleMania. and I knew that Vince McMahon and the company gonna see more than that. So I wasn’t surprised when they booked this second match with Shawn.”
Kurt said he wanted to repay Michaels when he got a chance. Angle’s career has seen him rise above the ordinary in the professional wrestling industry. He has had iconic feuds and matches with the likes of The Undertaker, Chris Jericho, and Shawn Michaels.
