Roman Reigns has been the top guy in WWE since returning at SummerSlam 2020. He won the Universal Title a week after returning and hasn’t stopped gunning to be better since. In 2015, Roman Reigns and Daniel Bryan clashed at the same PPV with a WWE World Heavyweight Championship opportunity on the line. Bryan tried to prove that Reigns was nothing more than a tease and someone who lucked his way to the main event. Roman, on the other hand, wanted to prove he deserved a spot in the main event of WrestleMania against Brock Lesnar.

After wearing each other out for twenty minutes, Reigns kicked out of Bryan’s running knee and smashed him with a Spear for the win. He heads to WrestleMania but was unsuccessful in winning the WWE World Heavyweight title.

This year, the scenario is quite different; however, the outcome and purpose remain the same. The winner of tomorrow’s main event heads to the main event of WrestleMania. Either Reigns or Bryan will walk into WrestleMania as the WWE Universal Champion against the Royal Rumble winner Edge.

Given how much their rivalry has developed since February, Roman Reigns vs Edge is the perfect main event for WrestleMania. Since winning the title, Reigns has been the best thing in WWE. His excellent run as champion warrants a WrestleMania title defense.

As for Daniel Bryan, WWE thrust him into this angle to make the days leading up to WrestleMania more interesting. Reigns vs Bryan will certainly be a banger, but the Tribal Chief will be the one to move on to WrestleMania.

We cannot safely make a prediction about the Bryan vs Reigns match without considering the enforcer at ringside. Edge beat Jey Uso on SmackDown to become the enforcer for Fastlane’s main event. After his first match on SmackDown in ten years, Edge ate a spear from the Tribal Chief.

This surely puts Edge in a biased position, but we must also talk about the running knee he ate from Bryan. Edge had a lot of harsh words for Daniel Bryan after he received a shot at the title, and Bryan backed his words by kneeing Edge in the face.

Both Bryan and Reigns might receive their comeuppance from Edge at Fastlane, but only the Tribal Chief will head to WrestleMania as champion.
