Fastlane was full of surprises with Carlito’s return to the WWE and Jade Cargill’s thunderous debut. In addition, fans also got their new Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions in the form of Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso. But the highlight of the night was Seth Rollins versus Shinsuke Nakamura, in a Last Man Standing match for the World Heavyweight Championship. As the match came to an end, commentator Cory Graves dropped a crucial hint pointing towards the possible return of one of the most controversial stars in wrestling history.

Over the past few weeks, there have been rumors that CM Punk might join the WWE soon.

Cory Graves hinted at CM Punk’s return at the end of Seth Rollins’ match

Seth Rollins wrestling Shinsuke Nakamura was a battle of the ages that fans were eagerly waiting for. And they were definitely not disappointed by the stellar show both the stars put on. Nakamura put on a great effort, but in the end, Rollins proved why he was the World Champion.

After decimating Nakamura in the Last Man Standing match, Rollins, as always, went to celebrate with his fans. This time, however, he jumped straight into the crowd to give them an up-close-and-personal experience with their champ. While Rollins was celebrating, commentator Cory Graves said a sentence that fans thought was a hint at CM Punk’s return at Survivor Series. Graves said, “Riding on the edge of a lightning bolt”.

Fans were quick to reference Punk’s Instagram story from April, where he posted a pic of his entrance for WrestleMania 29 with the caption, “Ten years ago. Riding on the edge of a lightning bolt.⚡”.

Fans are speculating that as we approach Survivor Series in November, WWE will keep dropping such hints about CM Punk’s return. Also, the PLE will be taking place in Chicago which happens to be Punk’s hometown, thus making it an even bigger possibility. We will only have to wait and watch. But going back to Punk’s story, WrestleMania 29 was a night that WWE fans will cherish forever.

CM Punk had set his sights on ending The Undertaker’s undefeated WrestleMania streak

Let’s rewind to 2013, when ‘The Wiseman’ Paul Heyman was the manager of CM Punk. Punk desperately wanted to end The Undertaker’s undefeated WrestleMania streak.

He even beat Big Show, Randy Orton, and Sheamus in a fatal four-way match to earn the right to fight The Undertaker. During their feud, Punk also managed to steal The Undertaker’s urn from the late Paul Bearer. Thus making the rivalry even more personal.

But as always, The Deadman defeated CM Punk at WrestleMania, thus continuing his winning streak. He also got his urn back post-decimating Punk that night.
