‘WWE Doesn’t Need John Cena’: Wrestling Legend Makes a Shocking Statement

The 16-times World Champion John Cena carried the WWE on his shoulder for almost a decade. John Cena was the face of the company for almost a decade and always entertained the WWE Universe. However, the two-time WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair doesn’t think that John Cena needs another shot at WrestleMania again.

John Cena last appeared on the WWE programming to humble The Tribal Chief Roman Reigns. After that, however, the current Universal Champion sent back The Champ to Hollywood.

Cena returned last year at SummerSlam 2021, but even that time, he was not back for long and had just taken some time off from his Hollywood schedule to make his way inside the ring.

Ric Flair made a huge declaration on John Cena and his WrestleMania return!

The Nature Boy Ric Flair, on his latest episode of Wooooo Nation Uncensored podcast, commented on John Cena’s wrestling status. The co-host, Mark Madden, asked Ric Flair about his view of Cena’s appearance at WrestleMania.

Ric Flair responded, “No, I mean I’d love to see John, but I don’t think they [WWE] need him.” The Nature Boy also understands that John Cena is packed with movie schedules. Therefore Ric Flair doesn’t believe that Cena should make a return at The Biggest Show of the Year.

“John is so wrapped up in Hollywood now and doing so well. He’s in South America right now for a couple of months. That’s a big sacrifice and a big commitment when you start doing acting full-time,” The Nature Boy added.

As per earlier reports, John Cena is undoubtedly not returning at this year’s WrestleMania. Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer also reported that The Champ’s Hollywood schedule wouldn’t allow him to appear at The Stupendous WrestleMania 38.

Why is The Leader of Cenation not making an in-ring return?

In fact, WWE had rumored that they are planning a “Steve Austin-level” surprise for The Biggest Show of the Year. But the WWE did not really discuss Cena for the WrestleMania duty. 

When John Cena made his last presence at WrestleMania 36 two years ago, fans expected that he would do the same in 2021 as well. But, Cena was occupied with filming the action-packed “Peacemaker” television series in 2021.

John Cena’s first season of James Gunn’s directed “Peacemaker” was a massive hit. The director James Gunn revealed that the final episode of Peacemaker broke HBO’s streaming record.

The Leader of Cena has no plans to return to the WWEparas, as he has multiple Hollywood projects lined up for him. Therefore, the WWE Universe will have to wait for John Cena to make a surprise return in the wrestling arena.
