Miz won his first WWE Championship in 2011. On November 22nd, 2010, Miz cashed in his Money in the Bank contract on Randy Orton, the WWE Champion. Orton had just defended the title against Wade Barrett, and the Nexus had left the Viper wounded.
Once Orton RKO’d Barrett into the mid-card, the Miz sprinted to the ring with his MITB briefcase. The wounded Viper lay defenceless against the opportunistic challenger. Miz attacked Orton’s legs, but the Viper fought back and almost put him away with the RKO, but the challenger countered with the Skull Crushing Finale. 1, 2, 3, and we had a new champion.
