Bobby Lashley reveals he wanted Apollo Crews to be a part of The Hurt Business

The Hurt Business now consists only of MVP and Bobby Lashley, as Cedric and Benjamin were kicked out of the group by Lashley. The trio recently faced each other in a handicap match where Bobby demolished the duo of Cedric and Benjamin to win the match. Lashley recently appeared on the latest episode of Steve Austin’s Broken Skull Sessions show and discussed The Hurt Business. Bobby revealed he wanted to recruit Apollo Crews to The Hurt Business, but the WWE officials held off the plans.

Lashley added- “I really wanted Apollo, I really wanted Apollo, because we were doing it as a character, but at the same time we were doing it as ”I think I know what these guys need. Apollo… great, great, great talent, but I was like, ”Man, you’re almost too nice. You just seem like, all right, I can do cool moves, but nobody’s ever really gonna get behind you.” So I was like, ”Man, come to The Hurt Business and we’re gonna teach you how to hurt people.”(H/T Sportskeeda)

Apollo Crews turned out to be good without the Heart Business

Lashley’s revelation of him wanting to recruit Apollo Crews does not come as a surprise to the WWE Universe. Crews is one of the most talented wrestlers in the Smackdown Locker room. But the major takeaway from Lashley‘s quotes is how he felt that the character of Apollo Crews was too nice. Apollo Crews turned out to be not too nice now as the former Intercontinental Champion has a great run in the WWE Smackdown show and his companion Commander Azeez.

Apollo had a great run as an Intercontinental Champion as he portrayed his heel character meticulously. However, crews recently lost his Intercontinental Championship to Shinsuke Nakamura. On the other hand, Lashley is preparing for one of the biggest matches in his career against WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg at WWE Summerslam.
