While the decision is quite disappointing, we have no choice but to live with it. Natalya beat Tamina on the returning WWE Backstage to win the boondoggle of a lifetime, the #30 spot in the women’s Royal Rumble. The odd decision of revealing the #30 entrant is quite a bad one, as it takes away the surprise factor.

The Queen of Harts is a very talented wrestler and is probably the most experienced Superstar in the women’s division. She has earned her stripes and will go down as one of the best female wrestlers to lace a pair of boots. However, she is a very dull choice to enter at the famed #30 spot.

The final entrant in the Rumble match enters with the most hype and is the one entrant that can perk up the fans if the Rumble has not been great. No other spot sparks intensity, drama and intrigue like the #30 spot. While Tamina would have been the most woeful #30 entrant, having Natalya there is only one step above woeful.

Natalya is not a mediocre wrestler, but the decision to give her the spot over much more deserving Superstars is ridiculous. Fans would have lost it if Ronda Rousey returned at the #30 spot, or if NXT Champion Io Shirai made her main roster debut upon entering at #30. Instead, fans will have to make do with the Queen of Harts and not the Queen of the Sky.

Favourites to win the women’s Rumble match

The women’s division had been lacking in 2020. Bayley, Sasha Banks and Asuka stepped to the plate as Becky Lynch and Ronda Rousey took a break. Charlotte Flair was busy trying to reclaim NXT and turn it into her own queendom.

On SmackDown, Bianca Belair has more than held up her end, feuding with former champion Bayley. With a clean win over the Role Model, Belair enters the Rumble match with a ton of momentum, and a dream match with Sasha Banks might be in the stars.

Asuka’s tag team partner Charlotte Flair is the best wrestler in the women’s division by a long shot. The Queen has put on brilliant matches against every member of the division. Rekindling the Asuka vs Charlotte rivalry is best for business, making the Queen the favourite to win the Royal Rumble match.
