Big E and Sami Zayn may not have had a one-on-one at WWE TLC, but they met inside the ring. The event kicked off with an eight-man tag team match where Chad Gable, Otis, Big E, and Daniel Bryan defeated Sami Zayn, Nakamura, Cesaro, and King Corbin.

In fact, Big E was the one to secure the victory by pinning Sami Zayn.

Now, WWE has announced that the company is going to grant Big E’s wish prior to Christmas. According to him, he has waited long enough for a chance to battle a Superstar for the title.

The coming episode of WWE SmackDown will feature the two Superstars battling for the Intercontinental Championship belt.

Prior to WWE TLC, Sami Zayn and Big E faced each other outside the ring during the Sami Awards ceremony.

While Zayn had designed all the awards for himself, for some reason the ‘Superstar of the Year’ had Big E’s name on the piece of paper. This frustrated Zayn to the point that he absolutely demolished a stagehand backstage.

On top of that, Big E had trashed Zayn’s award ceremony set from top to bottom. This added to the overall frustration Zayn was feeling.

Sami Zayn had expressed WWE’s true intentions with him

A few weeks ago, Sami Zayn revealed that WWE has been throwing obstacles at him for no reason. Even though he has been steering them away, it was uncalled for.

“I’m requesting this interview so that I can speak to the people, the people that I represent with this Intercontinental Championship, the people of every country and every continent and I’m asking for this because I know I was purposely kept off your little list there. They are trying to silence me, they are trying to suppress me because I speak the truth. They don’t want the truth being disseminated to the people, they don’t, and that is why they’re going out of their way to sabotage me, every opportunity they get they’re trying to sabotage me.”

Will Big E dethrone Zayn for the belt? Or is he destined for even bigger things in 2021?
