After the disaster that was WWE 2K20, both the company along with 2K Games and Visual Concepts realized that their video game saga was declining into monotony, with few annual innovations and some bugs that scared old and new users. The long-awaited premiere of WWE 2K22 changed things for the better. A rebuild based on an innovative formula began, taking advantage of the ability of the next-generation hardware to provide something different to the fans of wrestling video games.

WWE 2K23 strengthened the formula. Although the base was similar, the improvements were more visible. A different showcase, a more balanced roster, and stipulations of matches closer to the present day brought forward an immersive experience. However, the evolution did not stop there. And with this, the hype for WWE 2K25 has reached sky-high. So when is the much-awaited game going to hit the shelves? Well, we finally have an update on that front.

WWE 2K25 release timeline revealed

For the fans of the WWE 2K games, there’s a major update regarding your favorite series. The 2K25 edition of the game is all set to release as early as possible, as Take-Two Interactive has confirmed that the game studio is already developing the much-awaited 2K25 edition. In fact, it may be released in the early months of next year, as revealed on Twitter. “Take-Two Interactive have confirmed that WWE 2K25 is currently in development and is scheduled for release in Fiscal 2025. This means the game is planned to release sometime between now and April 6th, 2025.”

The 2024 edition of the series reaped praise from the masses. All thanks to its amazing gameplay, graphics, and WrestleMania showcase. WWE 2K24 uses nostalgia to show us the best matches that the PLE has had since its first edition in 1984. From classics like Hulk Hogan vs. André the Giant at WrestleMania 3 to Cody Rhodes vs. Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 39. But now, the game reached even greater heights as they released a DLC featuring CM Punk.

ECW DLC in WWE 2k24 features a hardcore CM Punk

Hardcore gamers can take their level to the extreme with the WWE© 2K24 ECW Punk* Pack, available now. The pack earned its name after ECW, a brand synonymous with most extreme wrestling as well as CM Punk. The two-time WWE champion, CM Punk, has garnered a reputation for his honest and unpredictable character.

This is CM Punk’s first appearance in the franchise since WWE 2K15. The WWE star was a highly requested addition to WWE 2K24, the highest-rated console game in the history of the WWE 2K franchise. Joining CM Punk in the ECW Punk Pack are also the WWE Hall of Fame tag team, The Dudley Boyz, Sandman, Terry Funk, and an ECW Paul Heyman Manager MyFACTION card.
