The American Nightmare Cody Rhodes is arguably on the hottest run of his career. With immense support from his fandom, Rhodes is moving forward to the top position. Ever since his return last year, Rhodes has maintained an elite status. He has earned a great of goodwill among fans due to his actions both in and outside the ring.

However, a recent activity by him may have caused him to lose a little of that well-earned goodwill.

What did Cody Rhodes say to enraged the fans?

A Star Wars fan, Cody Rhodes recently ranked Star Wars films while comparing them with multiple WrestleMania. During an interview, the host and Rhodes would engage in a discussion that detailed comparing his WrestleMania matches of the last two years to the first two Star Wars movies.

While WrestleMania 38 was compared with New Hope, WrestleMania 39 with Empire Strikes Back, the upcoming WrestleMania 40 was described as ‘The Last Jedi’. And while Rhodes agreed with the comparisons, his comments about one movie called for a backlash from the fans.

While The Last Jedi was not one of the much-appreciated films from the franchise, Rhodes nevertheless rated it as his second favorite, placing Empire Strikes Back at the top of his list. He said, “Empire Strikes Back is my favorite. Hands down my favorite. But also my second favorite is The Last Jedi and that causes people to lose it.”

The Last Jedi is often not remembered fondly by the Star Wars fandom and is regarded as one of the weaker films in the franchise.

The American Nightmare would further rate ‘Rogue One’ at the bottom of his list. This would lead fans online their back on Rhodes, and engulf him with their troll comments.

WWE fans react after Cody Rhodes rates The Return of the Jedi high on his list

Despite being a babyface and a fan favorite, nobody expected such a backlash from Rhodes’ fandom. Soon after he revealed his ranking of the Return of the Jedi in his all-time list at second, fans were quick to troll him.

One fan let out a sigh of disbelief after Rhodes revealed The Return of the Jedi as his favorite Star Wars film.

Another fan was shocked to learn how Rhodes placed The Rogue One at the bottom of the list.

The American Nightmare is currently in a feud with Finn Balor, and The Judgment Day. After securing an appreciation from Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam 2023, Rhodes is currently on another level. With Payback approaching, fans expect Rhodes to take on Finn Balor at the PLE.
