Wrestling legends are a delight not just to the fans but also to current active wrestlers. Many of the current generations of wrestlers grew up watching and admiring these legends. When CM Punk met such a legend, he was beyond excited. The former WWE star took to Instagram to appreciate the humbleness the legend portrayed during the meet.

The legend has been off the wrestling business for 37 years. So, seeing him visiting a wrestling event and interacting with the active roster excited CM Punk. The wrestler was so happy with the sight that he couldn’t wait around more than some hours before updating his fans following the ‘Collision’ event.

CM Punk shares excitement on his Instagram story

The latest AEW Collison episode emanated from Greensboro. During the night, a wrestling legend was there to surprise the AEW talents and meet up with them. Even though CM Punk lost the 6-person tag unable to acquire the World Trios Title, his meeting with Magnum T.A. helped him cheer up. According to him, meeting the former wrestler was a humbling experience.

Hours after the Saturday night event was wrapped up, CM Punk took to his Instagram story to write, “Magnum visited backstage in Greensboro last night and I want to publicly say what an honor it is to be able to speak to the man. It’s humbling a legend takes the time, and it’s always a pleasure to see one of the greatest come through. Wrestling royalty.

Below the wholesome words that Punk wrote for the legend, he also posted a picture of him which had him with the ‘World Heavyweight Championship’.

The irony behind the image lies in Magnum’s wrestling career. This is particularly because he was never able to become NWA’s World Heavyweight Champion following his tragic accident.

Tragedy that stopped Magnum’s career from reaching its full potential

Terry Allen started wrestling in the year 1978. After a few years, he was signed by NWA’s Jim Crockett Productions in 1984. The wrestler started quickly gaining recognition as he was able to win the United States Heavyweight Championship in March 1985, merely months after his joining. Magnum T.A. enjoyed a good career run and he even had a run-in with another wrestling legend, Ric Flair for his World Heavyweight Championship.

Unfortunately for Allen, he lost the 30-minute match and didn’t get a second shot at the same. He was being groomed to win the NWA World title but met with a horrific car accident. In 1986, his Porsche crashed into a telephone pole. This accident had a severe effect on his body and forced him to retire from wrestling altogether. Even though he recovered from the partial paralysis of his body after months, he never looked back on making an in-ring return.

In spite of his incomplete legacy, wrestlers and wrestling fans who know Magnum’s career story still consider him a legend.
