There are plenty of examples of great bookings in WWE’s history. But when it comes to Bobby Lashley vs Brock Lesnar, it has been something of a mixed bag. Both top stars, having many similarities between themselves, barely failed to make the fans excited about their matches but fell short of expectations during their in-ring battles. Their feud seemingly came to an end during this Elimination Chamber, with Lesnar facing a defeat due to disqualification.

Much to the disappointment of the fans, the iconic duo couldn’t deliver on the promise after some amazing storytelling by WWE.

During the latest episode of Wrestling with Freddie, wrestling enthusiast Freddie Prinze Jr. along with fellow wrestling fan cum comedian Jeff Dye shed light on the 2023 Elimination Chamber’s details.

While speaking about the great rivalry between Bobby Lashley and the Beast Incarnate, Prinze Jr, ‘The world didn’t allow us to ever have this match. They took it from us. Brock went to UFC and became the legitimate UFC martial arts, mixed martial arts champion, Heavyweight Champion, killing everybody. Bobby had some MMA fights as well…. then Bobby went to TNA around the world, Brock was chilling on a firm and it was never gonna work out.’

WWE’s WrestleMania plan for this duo

Because of his not-so-clean result at the Elimination Chamber, WWE Universe was hoping for a conclusory match between Lashley and Lesnar at WrestleMania. But this didn’t prove to be the case as WWE already booked Lesnar vs Omos match for the biggest stage. Though it was not the original plan for the Beast Incarnate, the creative changed their mind later for some unknown reason.
