All Elite Wrestling, abbreviated as AEW is one of the major companies in the professional wrestling world. Tony Khan founded the company in 2019 and since then it is giving quite high competition to WWE. In recent years, wrestling fans have witnessed several WWE superstars leaving WWE and joining AEW. It might be a big concern for the WWE’s CEO Vince McMahon.

And in between all this, Tony Khan, the owner of AEW has claimed that WWE officials are approaching the AEW stars and forcing them to break the contract with their current company.

While giving an interview on ‘The Dan Le Batard Show’, Tony said that it is quite disturbing for him that over $6 billion worth WWE is approaching AEW stars. He even mentioned that all this is making it difficult for him to put good shows in front of the audience.

Tony Khan accuses WWE of trying to poach his talent

While talking to the host, Tony said, “I’ve had a lot of wrestlers come to me and allege that WWE reached out to them to tamper with their contracts and ask them to break their contracts. I can’t confirm that specifically. I can only tell you what the wrestlers have come to me and said but I’ve had multiple wrestlers and staff report that to me. It was very disturbing. I’ve had to go out and try to put on good shows despite this alleged tampering and stuff like that. Frankly, I don’t think it’s stopped us because the quality of the product and the quality of the shows is at an all-time high right now.”

It all started with the departure of Jon Moxley ( initially known as Dean Ambrose in WWE). Jon left WWE in 2019 after being unhappy with his creative direction and jumped ship to AEW.

The number of WWE superstars moving over to AEW did increase with names like Rusev, Daniel Bryan, Dax Harwood, and Cash Wheeler ending up joining the Jacksonville-based promotion.

Some may think of Khan’s statement as a ploy to get more attention to his promotion, but recently, the AEW star Dax Harwood shared a story on his Instagram where he accidentally showed a WWE contract. Although Dax immediately removed that story, it was enough time for fans to notice it, further lending credibility to Khan’s claims.
