Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns’ feud is set to come to a close at WrestleMania XL in a couple of weeks. While the result of the match is a mystery, there is a specific way that some fans would like to see it go down. In a promo a few SmackDowns ago, The Rock revealed that if Cody Rhodes and his tag team partner lose to him and his cousin during the night one of WrestleMania, Bloodline Rules will apply.

According to this, The Bloodline will set the conditions of the match and will be free to interfere in the match. Despite the criticism, this may be a good step for the main event.

Cody Rhodes would probably become an even bigger babyface

As Dwayne Johnson explained it, a ‘Bloodline Rules’ match is a match where everything is allowed. Anything that the heel faction wants to throw at Cody Rhodes to make him lose would be allowed in the match. While this seems unfair, causing many fans to hope that it doesn’t come to this, it may play out in the favor of Cody Rhodes, and there are two reasons for it.

Firstly, if WWE has planned for The American Nightmare to win the match at WrestleMania XL and ‘finish his story’ no matter the odds, then he would become an even bigger babyface. This heroic history would be iconic to witness.

Secondly, if these extreme rules apply to the match, it will make the main event even more chaotic. This can result in some appearances that will hype up the fans. These appearances could also be unexpected and come as a surprise for the people watching the PLE.

Apart from this outlook on the Bloodline Rules, co-hosts of the Wrestling Observer Radio had some criticisms for it as well.

Bloodline Rules wouldn’t make much sense in Roman Reigns’ match

According to the co-hosts discussing the topic on the Wrestling Observer Radio, the concept behind Bloodline Rules doesn’t make much sense. This is because The Bloodline has already been doing things illegally in every match including either of their members. Moreover, the faction may set up a rule which is impossible to overcome. For example, if they lay down that Rhodes’ pinfall would have to count to 40, then it would be completely unfair.

However, if WWE ends up bringing this rule-set to the main event of night two, then they would have probably already figured out a way out of it for The American Nightmare.
