However, Johnson has a life outside of the WWE. While he is a heel within the company, he’s a baby face in real life. Now, while face Johnson promotes his men’s skincare brand, Papatui on social media, fans of his heel persona are left confused.
Dwayne Johnson’s constant character switch has his social media page confused
Back in the day when wrestlers were heels, they were heels in the ring and outside. There are countless stories of wrestlers not breaking their heel persona even when meeting fans. However, days of keeping kayfabe alive are over, and now wrestler reveal their real side to some extent on social media. The Rock is among those wrestlers and recently released his men’s skincare product line. In promoting his brand, Papatui, Johnson has been sharing some positive pieces of material. This goes in contrast to his negative rants on Cody Rhodes. The issue arises when both the positive and negative content can be seen on his social media pages.

Taking to Instagram, Johnson posted a video in promotion of Papatui. In the video, Johnson visited a Target outlet in Memphis. With his classic The Rock charm and smile, he entered the establishment to the surprise of all the customers and workers alike. He even added the caption, “It’s the mana & positive energy – you can feel it. I’m grateful. Thank you everyone.” While the promotion material is great and showcases a humble and kind-hearted human being grateful for everything, there is a minor issue.

The video that comes after this is about The Rock handing Rhodes’ mom a bloodied belt, which he used in beating her son. The juxtaposition of content on Johnson’s social media has divided fans. While many know a megastar like The Rock cannot keep Kayfabe alive, they would’ve liked it if he had at least tried. The negative anti-Rhodes content is turned to eleven, while the positive content is also at eleven.
