The Rock has completely embraced the dark side. Last night on SmackDown, he entered the blue brand and wreaked havoc on the audience, who were wildly voicing their support for Cody Rhodes. But no matter how savage the People’s Champion sounds on the screen, he loved the entire segment, including the unbridled boos and how he silenced it all together.
Despite the sporadic appearances on the roster, The Rock was almost booked to fight his cousin Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40 for the WWE Undisputed Universal title. As it meant a clear sidelining of Rhodes, fans lashed out on social media and ran a rigorous campaign to let him finish his story. This ultimate backlash ultimately led the higher-ups to change their main-event plans and replace The Rock with the ex-AEW superstar.
However, despite the rectification, fans continued to boo the Johnson on last week’s SmackDown. As a total display of his heel turn, the former world champion also roasted them back. That said, he rather loved it. Breaking his kayfabe on Twitter, the Great One wrote, ”This is a wild, unpredictable, untamable, crazy connection. And I f**king love it.
