The 2017 Oscar Awards surely made headlines but because of all the wrong reasons. The prestigious award ceremony featured a major blunder at the end. One that is perhaps the worst nightmare of the organizers of the world’s best-known film awards. At the most anticipated moment of the 89th Academy Awards, the presentation of the award for the best film of the year, Faye Dunaway and Warren Beatty announced that the winner was “La La Land”. Minutes later, and while the producers of the film starring Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling were thanking everyone, the correction came: “Moonlight” was the winner and not La la Land.

This made major headlines, and when Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson recently appeared on a talk show, he shared his thoughts on the blunder as a still from the event showed him to be really angry at the error. So much so, that he might’ve been arrested. But why was he so mad at it? Well, because he thought that the Oscars had been sabotaged.

Recently, ‘The Rock’ appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live. And during the interview with the talk show host, the duo talked about the 2017 Oscars. Kimmel was actually the host of the award show and he showed a picture to the audience where ‘The Rock’ can be seen a bit unsettled at the blunder. When asked about what he was thinking, Johnson said, “You know how when something becomes really surreal even in this crazy makeup world of Hollywood, it was at the end there. I thought that “Oh is someone purposefully trying to sabotage the moment.” So this was a little “Do I need to get up here and take care of this?” Luckily I didn’t cause I would’ve been arrested.”

The error surely left everyone stunned. It seemed like just another joke Jimmy Kimmel had played throughout the Gala. Everyone thought it was part of the script, but it was all too real. Warren Beatty “messed it up” by misreading the winner’s card. It was the first time it’s happened at an Oscars gala. Jimmy Kimmel did apologize, but the mistake was huge and no one could explain what happened. However, the 2024 Oscar did somewhat make up for it, at least for WWE fans as it featured two big names who often cross the realm of Hollywood and pro wrestling.

The 96th edition of the Academy Awards just took place. And it featured two superstars who often jump ships between the WWE and Hollywood. The latest edition of the Academy Awards starred ‘The Rock’ and Bad Bunny, who appeared together to present the Academy Award for Best International Feature Film. The Hollywood actor and the singer-songwriter entered the audience while the latter’s song ‘Monaco’ played.

Both celebrities were also in charge of presenting the award to The Zone of Interest, a co-production film between Poland, the United Kingdom, and the United States that was also in the running to win Best Film. Bad Bunny has been away from the WWE stage since his victory at Backlash 2023 when he managed to rise against Damian Priest in front of the crowd in his native Puerto Rico.

The artist also stood out as one of the playable characters of WWE 2K24, a video game recently released for PC and second-to-last and last-gen consoles. Meanwhile, ‘The Rock’ is preparing for his first official match in nearly a decade. The actor will join his cousin Roman Reigns to face Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins at WrestleMania XL.
