The feud between Cody Rhodes and Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, along with The Bloodline, is officially main eventing WrestleMania XL. A highly anticipated Tag Team match will feature on Night #1 followed by the WWE Universal title match on Night #2. This has driven the hype for this year’s Mania to a fever pitch. Fans want to see if The American Nightmare will finish his story or will Roman Reigns retain his title? Now, the WWE is buzzing with a renowned Hollywood star who is in talks to appear at WrestleMania XL.

Sylvester Stallone in talks for Mania XL and to work with Cody Rhodes

On his podcast, 83 Weeks with Eric Bischoff, Bischoff, and Conrad Thompson discussed the upcoming WrestleMania XL. They broke the news that the Hollywood star Sylvester Stallone was in talks to appear at Mania. This is because the Grandest Stage of them All is taking place in Philadelphia. The city was the backdrop to Stallone’s breakout movie Rocky in 1976. Moreover, the city even erected a statue in his honor, making Stallone Mr. Philadelphia. This would mirror the first WrestleMania, which featured Mr. T, who appeared as a boxer in the second Rocky movie. According to Thompson, “I would love for them to recreate that scene of him running down the street with a bunch of kids and he’s in the gray sweats and running up the steps, except it’s not Rocky, it’s Cody.”

He went on to explain how Rhodes’ story mirrors what Stallone’s character faced in the movie. This would not be the first time Stallone would appear in the WWE. Stallone himself inducted Hulk Hogan into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2005. However, Bischoff had something to add to this idea.

Bischoff said, “I mean just can you hear Sylvester Stallone telling, narrating that story over the video that you were just talking about? Oh! That’d be awesome.”

This idea, according to both men, would be the kind of crossover that would instantly increase the already existing hype for the show. Fans believe that the WWE could also do something like they did for Arnold Schwarzenegger. Schwarzenegger made a cameo as the T-800 Terminator at WrestleMania 31.
