There are many examples of when wrestlers go beyond their usual ways to stay true to their in-ring characters. But MJF probably crossed all the limits, obsessing over his perfect heel persona during AEW‘s first PPV of 2023 on March 5 while trying random classic heel stuff on a young fan. It was okay till the moment it got revealed that AEW did not plant the child for the spot at all.

AEW Revolution 2023 saw a non-scripted angle between MJF and a little fan

It’s pretty obvious that The Salt of the Earth taking down Bryan Danielson at last Sunday’s AEW Revolution pay-per-view during their 60-Minute Iron Man match made the recent headlines. Still, it looks like it wasn’t all good for the bad boy of the AEW.

The match started with a mind game by MJF, who went to waste some time following his brief encounter with Danielson. The American Dragon then went among the crowd and took a cup of water from a female fan over there to throw on her child the next moment. It was so smooth that the fans primarily thought it was nothing but a mere scripted act. But later it proved to be wrong, as the mother and the child were seemingly unhappy. Later, AEW tried to make things right by trying to calm them.

Fans cried shame on MJF for his lame self-justification

Later, MJF made things even worse while saying the little kid ‘looked thirsty’ as a lame justification for his not-so-acceptable deed. However, the whole unexpected incident quite naturally stirred up a heated discussion in the WWE Universe. Most of the fans didn’t sit well with this unkind act toward a kid. While the act is apparently harmless, they think it’s quite too mean to do with a child for just the sake of the character.

One of them sarcastically threatens the star, saying he will never tolerate such kind of act on his child at any cost.

Some even mocked MJF’s justification, saying it was truly not his fault as he has been served with the cup of water in the first place.

One of the users believes it was quite normal for a guy like him to indulge in such an act, anyway. Fans should not expect anything better than that from him.

Some made fun of the entire incident for being labeled as the biggest story of the PPV.

While it’s still not clear if they actually planted the child there or if he was just a random fan falling victim to the MJF’s heel, a further bounce-back storyline involving the kid and MJF’s next opponent would be pretty interesting to watch.
