World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins’ Attempt to Duplicate John Cena’s Open Challenge Lands Him In Trouble In Form of His Next Challenger

Seth Rollins is the current world heavyweight champion and recently he declared an open World Title challenge for Monday Night’s episode of RAW. Demonstrating his willingness to defend his title against anyone, Rollins wrote on Twitter that he is ready to face anyone for the title. His tweet created a lot of buzz and fans were desperate to know his potential opponent and who will accept the challenge. It appears someone has already accepted Rollin’s challenge for the title.

The challenger for Rollins’ title has been revealed as he posted a video on social media saying he has accepted the challenge.

Former NXT North American Champion accepts Rollins’ challenge

Damian Priest posted a video on social media saying Rollins should consider his challenge closed as he accepts the invitation. In the video, he says, “Seth, making an open challenge is noble but very foolish. Consider your open challenge closed because I accept. Now in the main event of Monday Night RAW where I’ve always belonged, Damian Priest brings the World Heavyweight Championship home to The Judgment Day.”

This match was later confirmed by WWE for the next edition of RAW as two stars will now battle it out for the World title on the flagship show. Even though it seems unlikely Rollins will relinquish the title this early, Priest seemed confident that he can win the title and bring it to The Judgement Day.

The tweet has invoked a desire among the fans as they now wish to see this match happen.

Priest and Rollins have worked together in many multi-man matches since 2021. If they are to be opponents on Monday Night RAW, it will be their first-ever singles bout. Given that Priest will be backed by his stable members during the clash, the odds at the moment don’t seem in Rollins’ favor.

Seth Rollins is open to defending the World Heavyweight Championship against anyone

Seth Rollins has a firm determination as he wishes to prove he is capable to defend the title against anyone in the company. He has already stated he wants to be a different world champion than Roman Reigns who is on more of a part time schedule with WWE and defends his title at select events.

John Cena introduced WWE fans to open challenges in 2015 with US Championship Open. Since then open challenges have been far and few between. And now with Rollins looking to accept challenges for his world title, things could get interesting on RAW in the coming weeks.
