Dwayne Johnson is back in the Fast and Furious franchise as he appeared in the post-credit scene of Fast X. The Rock’s character Luke Hobbs is one of the iconic roles in the film series since his debut. Over the course of the movies he has appeared in, DJ had several action-packed scenes with Vin Diesel. However, despite their previous beef, which they have squashed now, Diesel takes pride in working in a particular scene together.

The 55-year-old actor is glad DJ is back and will be present in future movies. But while filming one of the sequels, Diesel and Johnson put their heart and soul to perfect one fight scene. 

Vin Diesel once praised Dwayne Johnson for their fight scene

There is no secret that Vin Diesel was happy to have The Rock on board for Fast Five. While the characters were fugitives hiding in Brazil, Johnson played Luke Hobbs wonderfully who becomes a threat to them.

However, in one of the scenes in Fast Five, Dominic Torreto and Hobbs get into a fight in the hideout. The fight is one of the best scenes of the franchise and it took nearly five days to film it perfectly. Diesel addressed the same in a behind-the-scenes video of the filming of the scene.

The 55-year-old actor said, “And with guys like Dwayne and I that are gonna slave and work five days in a row on this scene – unrelenting, sweat-drenched, and banging up at each other, emotionally and physically taxing. It was a real sense of pride for both, Dwayne and I.”

In the video, we can see not only Diesel and Johnson’s stunt doubles were doing the scenes, but the actors were also involved. Nevertheless, this magic was seen on only a few occasions because while they filmed the eighth installment, there was already a ridge in their relationship.

Also, before starting to film Fast X, Diesel requested The Rock to join the cast through Instagram. However, The Rock called him manipulative for doing so and rejected the same at first. But as he returned to the tenth part, we might see their chemistry once again in future movies. Additionally, Diesel also shared his thoughts about ‘The Great One’s’ return to the franchise.

While talking with Entertainment Tonight, Diesel talked about Johnson’s return. Although it wasn’t direct, it seemed Diesel was happy to see him back.

Diesel said, “We have such a great cast. We lead with love. We try to create an environment where people can do their best work. That’s all actors really want, is to feel as though they’re supported to create unique characters. Characters that last forever.”
