“Women Should Stick Up for Each Other”: John Cena’s Ex-beau Nikki Bella Once Detailed How Being With the WWE Star Turned Actor Made Her Life Harder

John Cena is truly one of the bests in the industry. He began his professional career as a competitive bodybuilder and then switched sides to become a pro wrestler. He made his WWE debut back in 2002 and quickly rose to fame.

The early part of his career saw him as a trash-mouthed guy who had no respect for anyone. However, his transition into the later phase, saw the Doctor of Thugonomics become a more sensible person. With good values, Cena became every child’s favorite.

Throughout his career, he has been involved with various women as well. He was first married to Elizabeth Huberdeau from 2009 to  2012, after which they divorced and separated. Cena had been involved in a relationship with Nikki Bella since 2012.

The 16-time world champion proposed to Nikki Bella at WrestleMania  33 after their mixed-tag match against The Miz and Maryse. However, a year later, they would call off their wedding and separate from each other. In 2016, when Bella and Cena were dating each other, she revealed that people might think that she was getting her opportunities because of him. However, her professional career was even harder with him. At a segment on SmackDown, Carmella stated that Nikki Bella had all the success because of dating Cena.

Later, during an interview with DigitalSpy, Bella stated, “We’re here in this women’s revolution, we’re in this women’s empowerment movement worldwide, and if anything women should stick up for each other and be like, ‘No, she deserves everything she has and she’s worked hard as a woman.”

Bella claimed that in an era like this, how can a woman blame another woman like that? And instead, they should applaud each other for their success. She was upset about how could someone take away their achievement because of their involvement with a successful man.

Nikki reveals why her professional life was harder with Cena around

In the same interview, Bella revealed the reason why her career is now even harder than she is with Cena. The former Divas Champion stated, ” I am with a very successful man and the crazy thing is people think that it makes my career easier. No, it makes my career so much harder.”

Nikki Bella concluded with how disheartening it is to see all of her achievements being taken away. And the reason is her relationship with Cena. People have often claimed John Cena was handing her all the opportunities.

The former champion is a legend on her own, and she has proved it repeatedly. A happy mother now, Bella retired from wrestling a couple of years ago. And from 2020, John Cena is married to Shay Shariatzadeh.
