The world has lost yet another gem, and it is Jerry Springer. A popular icon and controversial figure in the entertainment industry took his last breath yesterday. Some recognize him from America’s Got Talent, while others from Judge Jerry or The Price Is Right.
But everyone knows him from the hit talk show of all time, “The Jerry Springer Show”, which ran on television for 27 long years. He also served as mayor of Cincinnati in 1977. Courtesy of his illness, a month ago, he had to stop his latest project, which was hosting a folk music show on a local Cincinnati radio station.
He was also a part of multiple WWE TV appearances many years ago. The Twitter world rose to pay its respect to the late iconic figure after the devastating news broke out.

Jerry Springer was suffering from pancreatic cancer
TMZ was the first to notify the world of Springer’s death on April 27. According to the report, a family member told the media house that he was “battling a “brief illness.” A couple of months ago, he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. His illness had got worse this week. On Thursday morning, he peacefully left for his heavenly abode.
The popular talk show host was also a notable figure in WWE. In 2015, he hosted WWE Too Hot For TV show. Plus, he guest-hosted an episode of Monday Night RAW in February 2010. Fans will remember his epic segment with ‘The Bella Twins’ on a September 2014 episode of RAW, where he acted as a mediator between the two sisters!
Everyone loved and respected him, be it a fan or a celebrity. When TMZ broke out the news online, celebrities and fans shared their heartfelt condolences on social media platforms.
WWE personalities Zelina Vega and Vince Russo expressed their sympathies on Twitter.
Zelina Vega felt short of words on hearing the devastating news. Therefore, she could only use two words to share her condolences on social media.

In his tweet, former WWE head writer Vince Russo highlighted how the 79-year-old late star helped to inspire WWE’s Attitude Era. He confessed that he and ‘Fast’ Eddie Ferrara, former WWE writer, would draw in ideas from his talk show to build storylines and plots for WWE and how it helped the old WWE stand out from the new WWE.
Man, I must acknowledge this. Make NO BONES ABOUT IT-"The Jerry Springer Show" was 100% the INSPIRATION behind the @WWE Attitude Era. "Fast" Eddie Ferrara and myself would sit there and watch episode after episode of Springer as we wrote next week's show. Jerry-RIP-and THANK YOU! pic.twitter.com/c4MmCLTEQK

Jerry Springer was a household name. Everyone copied him. From networks, to cable, to wrestling. The Attitude Era that saved the WWF was driven by adopting his show's attitude and human drama. If not for he, there would be no thee. RIP to the undisputed king of daytime TV. pic.twitter.com/lRghH2aUxX

His name was an adjective for chaos. One of a kind and definitely a trendsetter which I believe heavily fueled the attitude era.
Respect and Rest in Peace

Many fans commented on how much they love the London-born star and his work over the years. And they mentioned how much they enjoyed seeing him on television.
The thing about The Jerry Springer Show that always stood out to me was that it was fake as WWE but nobody cared because it was fun, outrageous, and entertaining. It had characters and stories. People were invested in watching.
