Just one month ago, WWE acquired Jade Cargill, the first major signing after their merger under Endeavor. There is no doubt that ever since she set foot in the promotion, the business has boomed to a whole new level. She hasn’t even made her in-ring debut yet, and she is already the talk of the town.
After Cargill, WWE is seemingly bracing itself to bag another top-tier talent. The superstar in question here is none other than Will Ospreay, who currently works for WWE’s rival promotion, NJPW. He also makes appearances for AEW and Impact Wrestling occasionally.

In August 2023, Will Ospreay announced his NJPW contract was going to end in six months on an episode of AEW Dynamite. This means he will be a free agent in February 2024. Additionally, he conveyed his determination to establish himself as a top wrestler globally, emphasizing his readiness to prove his prowess at any wrestling promotion or competition.
Now, it looks like WWE is ready to bag the soon-to-be hottest free agent on the market. Dave Meltzer recently confirmed this piece of information while speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio. He said, “I know WWE is absolutely after him and he is absolutely going to listen to WWE. WWE is very, very interested in him. Everyone is, and they should be.”

Just like Cargill, Ospreay has proved himself in the pro wrestling world and WWE bagging him is surely going to be very profitable for the company. With his contract expiration date approaching, several fans are eager to know who might be his first opponent at the Stamford-based promotion, if he lands in WWE.

Ospreay has been in the business for more than a decade. That said, it seems like he has his eyes set on one of the biggest fish in the pond. Recently, during an interview with Metro UK, he targeted Seth Rollins and took a jibe at him.
He stated that Rollins intrigues him quite a bit. He also degraded the World Heavyweight Champion by saying that Rollins’ 100% effort equals about 50% of his, implying that he is better than him. Clearly, Ospreay is trying to provoke The Visionary, which further cements the belief that he and WWE might join hands in the near future.
