XFL has had a long history of disappointments in its long tenure of existence. Despite playing its first season back in 2001, the minor football league has remained a mystery for many football fans thanks to bankruptcy and seizing its operations altogether. The league remained dormant until Dwayne Johnson decided to finally acquire and attempt to reboot it once again. Even though the first season wasn’t successful on the economic end of things, it was a good start.

Keeping this in mind, The Rock is all set to return for round 2 in 2024. If you are someone who loves watching football, fasten your seatbelts as XFL’s next season is only four months away, and here is all that Johnson has revealed about it so far.

After its first season wrapped up, Johnson had to face a major setback. The league that DJ bought for in the millions ended up losing $60 million during its first rebooted season. But this economic hurdle didn’t stop Johnson as he promised to return with a more profitable season in 2024.

First and foremost, we know that XFL will most probably have a deal with the NFL. According to the Mackie Developmental Program, XFL will be loaned three officials. These officials, after working full-time for XFL, will then be hired by the NFL once their tenure ends. This will keep things friendly between the two leagues in the same sport.

And after the job cuts in the minor football league, we learned that it has switched to a ‘dual full-time’ employment technique. While some employees have continued working with XFL, more job opportunities shall open up in the future.

After wrapping up the first season, The Brahma Bull also revealed how they will focus more on ‘player health’ in their upcoming season. This move can improve the talent quality by huge standards as a safer environment will attract more athletes.

And now, new reports have also suggested that XFL will not be competing with the NFL alone. In fact, Johnson and his business partners have decided to merge themselves with a bigger name.

Latest reports from Johnson’s ex-wife have revealed that the minor football league won’t be operating alone anymore. In fact, XFL has called in the USFL to help them. The latter has also had a past similar to XFL. After operating for merely three years in the 80s, USFL shut down, only to return in 2022 with a brand new season.

Now, the two minor football leagues will work together for their 2024 season. Through Danny Garcia’s words, we can assume that probably the merged league will come up with a different name. However, the changes that the business team had decided earlier could still be seen in full effect. However, the kickoff that was scheduled to begin on March 30 might get shifted to another date because of this.
