The masked devil made his appearance in AEW in September. And his main target right from the get-go was ‘Switchblade’ Jay White. Fans initially speculated that the masked devil might be MJF himself wanting to seek revenge from White in a more sinister way. But that speculation was laid to rest last week on Dynamite. Especially as the masked devil’s henchmen went on to attack The Acclaimed while MJF was still in the ring.

This bewildered fans further as they were quite sure that MJF was the masked devil. So then fans began to speculate that maybe it’s CM Punk. Punk also shared a story with Ric Flair’s iconic WCW Black Scorpion gimmick with a caption, ‘Who was behind the mask?’. Well, that speculation was also laid to rest recently.

A recent report by Fightful Select revealed that Punk might not be the man behind the masked devil. According to a report from the website, “Those that we’ve spoken to are of the belief it isn’t CM Punk, and saying that it would be a huge work on those in the know if so. It goes without saying, but he hasn’t been portraying the person under the mask”. With that laid to rest, it seems that there are other rumors springing up about a potential Punk appearance.
