WWE fans have been eagerly hoping for Sasha Banks to return to the WWE. But in the meantime, Banks outlined her ambitions as she confirmed she would join a wrestling promotion in the coming year. She posted a video on her cameo account stating the same.

She said, “I cannot wait to return back into the ring, so definitely expect me to be with some wrestling company in 2024. For sure i cannot wait to be back in that squared circle. I swear I feel the most home, it’s where I feel alive and I just can’t wait to be back coz I’ve been just healing everything, mentally, physically, spiritually, everything, so I’m really excited to get back to what I love and what I do best”.

This got wrestling fans really excited as Banks has wrestled in very few matches after her departure from the WWE. In 2023, she joined NJPW and challenged IWGP Women’s Champion Kairi Sane to a title match at the PPV Battle in the Valley in February. She won that match and thus became the new IWGP Women’s Champion. She then went on to defend her title at Sakura Genesis in April against AZM and Hazuki in a three-way match.

She emerged victorious that night. Then she defended her title against Mayu Iwatani at the PPV Stardom All Star Grand Queendom. Unfortunately, Banks lost her title that night, ending her reign at 64 days. Then finally in May, she took part in a tournament to crown the inaugural Strong Women’s Champion at the PPV Resurgence. Banks lost to Willow Nightingale in the finals of that championship tournament. This would turn out to be the last match that Banks would wrestle in. But going back to her exit from the WWE, why did she leave the promotion in the first place?

Banks had quite a successful stint in the WWE. She won the RAW and SmackDown Women’s championships during her glorious career.

Then, later in 2022 she joined forces with Jimmy Uso’s wife, Naomi to win the tag team championship at WrestleMania 38. But after just a month, she and Naomi barged into the WWE Head of Talent Relations office. The argument that ensued led to her and Naomi walking out due to creative differences with Vince McMahon.
