Rey Mysterio made his debut on SmackDown on July 25th, 2002, with a mask and his acrobatic style of wrestling. It was a breath of fresh air for the WWE crowd who were also highly impressed by RVD’s acrobatic style of wrestling. Soon, Mysterio became a crowd favorite and went on to win many WWE titles. On an episode of The MMA Hour With Ariel Helwani, Rey Mysterio revealed major info about his potential retirement plans. The episode was uploaded on YouTube on 17th October where he stated it would be within the next 2 years. He said, “I’m hoping that it can be within the next year and a half or two, maybe.”
As of now, WWE does not seem interested in letting Rey keep his title for long. Logan Paul may not win the title as well due to his part-time schedule. Hence, Rey might lose the title to someone else but not at Crown Jewel.
