For years, “if you smell what The Rock is cooking,” was just a popular catchphrase for the WWE Universe. Now, the way it has evolved has astonished everybody, especially how Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has effortlessly ushered himself into the limelight. However, it is hard to believe that Johnson pulled such a grand scheme just to be by the side of Roman Reigns.

Dwayne Johnson has always cruised as a lone battleship within the promotion. While The Rock has a very charismatic personality, what also defines him is his extremely self-centered attitude within the kayfabe. Thanks to this, some of his actions suggest that his loyalty doesn’t lie with Roman Reigns. Here are all the reasons that hint that The Brahma Bull will turn his back on The Tribal Chief at WrestleMania XL.

Dwayne Johnson has a knack for showing up unannounced and gaining massive cheers from the crowd. While he has done so many times to boost Roman Reigns, such a spectacle hasn’t happened since the Big Dog became The Tribal Chief.

Moreover, when he made an appearance after the Royal Rumble, the first thing he did was put himself straight into the title match. The staredown between The Rock and Roman Reigns was evident enough to show that Johnson was there for nobody but himself.

While the newest TKO board member thought he could easily get what he wanted, his former nemesis Triple H foiled his plans. This made Dwayne Johnson take a detour and join The Bloodline instead.

However, Dwayne Johnson has shown on more than one occasion that he is still a loose cannon. In fact, he hasn’t shied away from dropping hints to the WWE Universe that he is his own big dog.

Did Dwayne Johnson really join The Bloodline?

When Dwayne Johnson announced himself as a member of The Bloodline, his appearance screamed something entirely different. The Rock sported a leopard print, clearly signifying that he is an animal who never changes his spots. Not even for family. Moreover, he still entered the WWE arena separately with his own music unlike everyone else.

When Dwayne Johnson said that Cody Rhodes would walk out of WrestleMania a loser, his fingers weren’t pointing at him. In fact, he was directly pointing at Roman Reigns when he said this. Speaking about fingers, when The Bloodline made ‘the one’ sign, for a brief moment, Johnson’s fingers made an ‘L’ sign.

While it must have been hard for Reigns and his tribe to catch it in real time, the video recording got a clear shot of it. Notably, Cody Rhodes makes this sign, which casts further light on the dubious intentions of Dwayne Johnson. Interestingly, this L sign gesture came right after Johnson had to forcefully acknowledge Reigns as his Tribal Chief.

The Rock may have joined The Bloodline, but he had not paid his respects to The Head of the Table. Not till he was asked at least. Recently, however, Dwayne Johnson said another thing that sticks out like a sore thumb. Moreover, he was also ready to get slapped by Cody Rhodes to steer Reigns’ attention away from what he said.

When The Rock got his debt paid back to hide a botched statement

The 8 March episode of Smackdown saw Roman Reigns, Dwayne Johnson, Cody Rhodes, and Seth Rollins make their WrestleMania tag team bout official. However, The Rock said something fishy when he was hit with a curveball by Rhodes and Rollins. Cody Rhodes asked Dwayne Johnson what made him wield the authority to book the tag match in the first place.

Especially when he wasn’t the Tribal Chief. To this, The Rock said that he recognizes Reigns as the Tribal Chief because he is family. This didn’t look very good, since this meant that the family tree was the only reason The Rock did what he did. This demanded Dwayne Johnson to drag the attention away from his statement, leading him to use his TKO card for the first time.

To ensure his words were completely forgotten, he went personal with Cody Rhodes and insulted his family. This resulted in Rhodes slapping Dwayne Johnson, followed by massive cheers from the arena. Lastly, Johnson is also bringing back his Attitude Era persona, where he was the center of all attention and also the WWE Champion.
