Drew McIntyre has been a prominent name with the red brand of WWE. The Raw megastar has been bigger and badder since his return to the promotion in 2017. The two-time WWE World Champion has proven to be a formidable foe and has been on the dominating face side. However, with the recent events not being in his favor, he is rather infuriated with the ‘faces’ of Raw. Could this mean that The Chosen One will be changing sides?
Will fans get to see a new Drew McIntyre?
Drew McIntyre has time and time again shown his frustration with the faces of the company. On multiple occasions when he needed help from someone, they left him hanging. He has been facing against The Miz all by himself for some time. This was something he had highlighted in the very next episode of Raw after the Fastlane event. Considering his frustration with the faces, especially Cody Rhodes, could this mean McIntyre might be turning to the dark side?

The answer to this is probably yes. Considering his current run, he was left disappointed by the people who he considered as his allies. This could be the driving factor for him to take down everyone whom he had trusted. But the star has not shown any interest in the heel factions currently present at the promotion. Due to this, the 38-year-old star might go solo as a heel. WWE has lacked a solo heel throughout this year. With McIntyre’s transformation, fans could get to see a solo heel ruling the promotion once again.
The possibility of him turning heel is low but not zero. But amidst the rumors of him leaving the promotion, what will be his future at the promotion?
Is Drew McIntyre leaving WWE?
Rumors of the star leaving have been doing the rounds since he was pulled from the SmackDown in April this year. Apart from that, the news that a lot of stars have their contracts expiring this year added fuel to it. However, McIntyre dismissed these rumors while he was in India for Superstar Spectacle in September 2023. He had said that all he wanted to do now was to focus on the present and give his best for the audience.

Another report from PW Insider Elite has highlighted the fact that McIntyre’s contract will be ending in April 2023. This means that fans might get to see him in action at WrestleMania 40 which will be held in Philadelphia. Considering he has only few months till WrestleMania 40, fans could see a fully grown solo heel by that time. Who knows, he might even snatch the WWE World Championship title at the upcoming Crown Jewel from Seth Rollins and become a champion heel by defeating a prominent face of the promotion.
