Is WWE making a mistake by delaying Jimmy Uso's return, or is it a smart move?

So much delay for what? All main WWE stories have revolved around The Bloodline for years. The Tribal Chief became the protagonist of a legendary reign, lasting an incredible 1316 days and interrupted only at the hands of Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania XL. In the same event, Jimmy and Jey Uso faced each other in a match. Jey Uso won the match and continued his singles journey on Monday Night RAW.

However, Jimmy Uso has not been seen on WWE TV since the April 12 episode of SmackDown. He was brutally kicked out of The Bloodline and violently attacked by Tama Tonga and Solo Sikoa. Let us not forget that Roman Reigns already returned and confronted Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga, and Tonga Loa. But where is Jimmy Uso?

Is the WWE waiting for the right moment?

As confirmed by Sean Ross Sapp on Fightful Select, Jimmy Uso was away from WWE’s weekly schedule due to an injury. However, a few days ago, Pro Wrestling Nexus revealed that Jimmy Uso has been medically cleared, and his return to television could be imminent. So now that he is medically cleared, here’s what could be going on.

When Roman Reigns made his return on SummerSlam, the crowd in attendance got up from their seats and gave the WWE one of their loudest crowd pops in years. The video of the return blew up and shattered records with nearly 100 million views on WWE’s social media platforms.

The aftershock was felt again in the latest edition of SmackDown as the Original Tribal Chief returned to the Blue Brand. There, he took on The Bloodline 2.0 as he made Solo Sikoa run away from him while Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa faced his wrath. So with the hype so high, Jimmy Uso’s return would surely fall flat in comparison.

What’s your perspective on:

Is WWE making a mistake by delaying Jimmy Uso's return, or is it a smart move?

Have an interesting take?

So the Stamford-based promotion is possibly waiting for the hype around Reigns’ return to settle. Every superstar wants the loudest crowd reaction when they return. Jimmy Uso, too, would want a similar reaction. That would only be possible after a while, maybe in a month. Till then, it is nothing but a game of patience for the former WWE tag team champion. However, this isn’t the only possible reason for the delay in his return. What else is responsible?

WWE wants to exploit the numbers game!

The numbers advantage is what differentiates a faction from single superstars. The more, the merrier is truly a phrase that fits the realm of pro wrestling. Roman Reigns was able to dominate the WWE only because his Bloodline was available to bail him out of difficult situations and retain the title he held for so long. And now the same Reigns is fighting alone against the very faction he created. Although he was still able to overpower the group in the absence of Jacob Fatu, it looks like numbers matter.

While many believe that Fatu might be in cahoots with Reigns and that was the reason behind him not squaring off with Reigns on Smackdown, what if it’s not the truth? So then the new enforcer will wreak havoc on the OTC. That would be the perfect time for Jimmy Uso to make his return.

It would prove that this is a battle where Reigns will need help and he will be getting the reinforcement he needs. So Jimmy Uso could make a return when the OTC is getting overpowered by Bloodline 2.0.

Are they looking for a stronger storyline?

Now that Roman Reigns has confronted The Bloodline 2.0, it seems their rivalry has just begun. There is a possibility that WWE wants to let their storyline evolve without rushing things. Let us not forget that WWE’s next major Premium Live Event, Survivor Series, is about than three months away. So they could be taking time to develop things and Jimmy Uso could very well be a part of this.

Additionally, Roman Reigns still has a lot to do. Remember how he faced Jey Uso as the Tribal Chief multiple times? If he wants to face Jey and the others from The Bloodline 2.0 faction, he will have to gain Jimmy Uso’s confidence, and developing this angle, too, will take some time.
