It has been 17 months since Mercedes Mone, formerly known as Sasha Banks, walked out of the WWE while still being a champion. The May 15, 2022, live event was Mone’s last match at WWE, while she was last seen on a WWE televised match two days before the aforementioned date. Still, questions keep on rising about her departure.

However, it looks like the wounds are still fresh as Mone, now a prominent name in the wrestling circuits of Japan, refuses to entertain even her fans with an answer. Recently, something similar happened and the former WWE superstar had a quick reply.

Did Mercedes Mone leave because of creative differences?

One of the reasons that was touted as Mone’s departure was creative differences between the two parties- the superstar and the promotion. But what does Mercedes Mone have to say about it?

Well, she refuses to answer. In fact, in a video, a fan was seen asking the NJPW star about her WWE departure. The fan also asked Mone if creative fallout played its role. She quickly snapped back at the person.

When the fan told her that it was what he had read, Mone said, “Oh, that’s what you read. But you weren’t there. Ha ha. So no!” She then proceeded to add, “Why would I tell you? Why would I just tell you?” The fan said they just wanted to know the truth.

Mone also admonished the fan and said that they don’t want to see her interview or read her book. However, when the other person said that they planned to do it, she asked them to wait, and she signed a poster, seemingly for them.

To be fair, a lot of reports also mentioned creative fallout as the reason for the severance between the WWE and Mercedes Mone. She, however, wasn’t alone. Her then-tag team partner, Naomi, also pulled the plug on her WWE career.

Meanwhile, is Mone trying to avoid questions about the WWE on purpose?

Is Mercedes Mone coming back to the WWE?

No, there hasn’t been any word so far regarding this. Nothing concrete, to be exact. But, if you’re a fan who loves to read between the lines, there’s something for you.

The 31-year-old did leave a hint about her return in August. Though it wasn’t anything direct, her text to close friend Bayley might excite Sasha Banks’ fans in the WWE Universe.

Bayley shared a post about the eighth anniversary of their iconic match at NXT TakeOver on August 22, 2015. Replying to the post, Banks wrote: “Let’s do this again someday.” While it doesn’t give away much, fans can assume that there’s a certain hint about her return as Bayley is still a part of the WWE.

There’s no doubt that a part of the WWE Universe would love to see The Boss return. But they’ll have to wait for the stars to align for that to happen.
