Jey Uso was deprived of a World title by his brother Jimmy Uso at SummerSlam when Jey Uso took on Roman Reigns for the Undisputed Championship. Although Jimmy tried to convince Jey in the following week on SmackDown, Jey had other ideas. He super-kicked Jimmy before declaring himself out of WWE.

Jey Uso made his first appearance on RAW as a singles superstar on 6th September after a break of 26 days from WWE. It was later revealed that he was traded to RAW in exchange for Kevin Owens who was drafted to SmackDown a week later. But why did WWE trade Jey Uso? Let us look at the probable reasons.
1. Time-off from The Bloodline: Jey Uso’s recent struggles with The Bloodline have caused chaos for him on SmackDown. He has already feuded against Roman Reigns twice in a singles match but lost on both occasions. Since there is no scope for further storylines with The Bloodline, WWE creative might have moved Jey out of SmackDown to halt his ongoing feud with The Bloodline. This move allows WWE to keep exploring a fresh start for Jey Uso, having been part of the saga for three years.
2. Time-off from Jimmy Uso: It is not a hidden secret now that WWE is looking forward to a feud between the Usos at WrestleMania. To keep the feud fresh, they might have Jey to RAW while keeping Jimmy at SmackDown till the WrestleMania season is near.
3. Test out Jey Uso’s singles potential: ‘Main Event’ Jey Uso is over with the crowd since his feud against Roman Reigns. But to truly become a great singles superstar, he must be tested in unfavorable situations as well. Thus, trading Jey Uso to RAW will help WWE test his potential. Whether Jey Uso is able to sustain his popularity away from Roman Reigns is something WWE will be keen to observe.
4. Improve RAW’s ratings: SmackDown is pushing great numbers for live audience and TV ratings throughout the year. WWE might have felt a need for more star power for its top show, RAW. Hence, they traded Jey Uso as he is one of the hottest names in the WWE right now.

5. Balance the roster at RAW: RAW brand has Imperium and The Judgment Day as their biggest heel factions while Seth Rollins and Cody Rhodes bear the mantle for babyfaces. Thus, more power was required to bring balance to the ‘Good vs. Evil’ strategy of story-telling. Jey Uso is more than a capable candidate for the same.
As of now, Jey Uso is entertaining the crowd at RAW while patiently waiting for his inevitable singles match against Jimmy Uso.
