WWE came back home to MSG for Friday Night SmackDown on 06/28. Among the long list of stars who were slated to appear during the show, Damian Priest was also present. However, the Judgment Day leader wasn’t found anywhere at the venue as the event began. This is because he could never make it to NYC.

Damian Priest’s unsolvable issue

El Campeon was taking a flight to the City That Never Sleeps. However, his flight was held up at the airport, delaying it. Four hours before the show had to start, Priest had updated fans already claiming that there were some issues with the plane.

With only one hour remaining in hand before the show kicked off in New York, Priest tweeted, “Unfortunately the honor of main eventing The Garden is not possible tonight. Still haven’t taken off. Stuck on a plane in a runway. Very disappointed and apologies to my people. This one hurts. Enjoy the show! #SmackDown I’m sure will be awesome.

Fans of the World Heavyweight Champion may be disappointed to see this, but this was a situation that the wrestler couldn’t have handled otherwise. While he will be missed at the event, he wants his fans to look forward to the rest of the roster. The internet also seemed understanding of the issue and let this pass by easily.

The next move in his storyline seems to be approaching as Money in the Bank is arriving closer.

What does the future hold for Damian Priest?

On Monday Night Raw 06/17, we saw Seth Rollins return to the promotion after a long injury hiatus. The wrestler was recovering from the leg injury that he had endured prior to WrestleMania XL. Despite the hardships, he pulled through the event like a true champion and then went on a hiatus only to return last week. As soon as he came back, Rollins challenged the reigning World Heavyweight Champion for a title shot at Money in the Bank on July 6th.

The stakes for the match are as high as ever. While The Aerialist promised to not challenge him for a title again during his title reign if he loses, he also got Priest to agree that he will leave judgment day in case he fails to retain the title that night. The heel stable is known to help their leader despite how many times he has ordered them not to do so. It could be that at the upcoming PLE, Priest receives the same kind of help that allows him keep his title reign. In such a case, Rollins would either have to eye some other championship or wait for Priest to lose it to someone else.

Would you be disappointed if Priest’s flight history repeats itself during MITB this year?
