During the Go-Home episode of Raw, the company announced that the countdown show will commence at 4 pm ET/9 pm BST on Sunday and will keep on entertaining fans for three hours, which is one hour more than the usual time. So, summing it up with the 4 hours of the prime show and 1 hour of the press conference, a total of 8 hours fans will get to relish the SummerSlam vibe wholeheartedly. While the idea certainly adds extra intrigue for the fans who are predominantly pre-show freaks, others consider it a bad move.

AEW has normally been known to hold longer shows and WWE has always been a staunch critic of that. Now, given they contradicted their stance, it raised questions about their inside policy. Now, looking at the probable content of the kickoff show, we still can’t see any match. Jackie Redmond, Big E, Michael Cole, Pat McAfee, Wade Barrett and Sam Roberts will form part of the show panel. They will host several last-minute backstage interviews, and break down the matches and storylines, setting the perfect tone for the spectacular night.

The superstars that have so far been confirmed for the kickoff show were Rhea Ripley, Drew McIntyre, Seth Rollins, Damian Priest, Gunther, Cody Rhodes, Gunther, LA Knight, Logan Paul, Bayley, Nia Jax, Solo Sikoa, Sami Zayn, Bron Breakker. Notably, WWE might have made this decision to throw a wrench into the works of AEW as the taped episode of Collision starts just an hour after the start of the SummerSlam pre-show.

So, all we can expect is some strikingly awesome promos in the pre-show hours. Let’s now see who will anchor the event at Brown Stadium in Cleveland, Ohio, throughout all the extended hours.

The Miz will host the pre-shows and prime show at Cleveland

The latest episode of Monday Night Raw gave way to multiple developments ahead of the PLE. One of the major takeaways among them was The Miz’s hosting announcement. The A-Lister spilled the beans after Cathy Kelley posed the decisive question. He noted that he could happily charge up his homegrown crowd. When R Truth chimed in and poked him, expressing confusion regarding his original native place. Miz quickly silenced him, saying that he resided in LA, but he grew up in Cleveland.
