No one achieves greatness alone and in the case of Dwayne Johnson, there have been multiple people by his side as he climbed the ladder of success and fame. One of the rock-solid cores of his career though, is his ex-wife and business partner, Dany Garcia.

Her work in Johnson’s post-WWE career can’t be understated. But during their collaborative work on movies, it seems like Hollywood was shocked at their past relationship.

Dany Garcia revealed how Hollywood reacted to her being The Rock’s ex-wife

While talking about the XFL purchase in 2020, Dany Garcia told Forbes all about the process behind it. She revealed how she convinced her husband and Dwayne Johnson of the idea and went forward with the deal. After that, the host asked her if she had to cut something from her life to take hold of the responsibility of running a league. He also asked if the part she cut was being The Rock’s manager.

To this, she had a fun story about her being Johnson’s manager. She said, “I had transitioned out of being DJ’s manager a long time ago. That was the word we use because Hollywood would understand why is she in the room. My job has always been to architect a massive enterprise around him. But that gets difficult when you go to Hollywood. First people are like, you’re his ex-wife?, What’re you doing? I’m his manager.”

Even though they had separated Johnson and Garcia came together like peanut butter and jelly when it came to business. Both had already supported each other through thick and thin in their married life. So, they had a great bond working toward building the business, and they ended up making an empire altogether.

How Dwayne Johnson and Dany Garcia built an empire together?

In no small words, Garcia was a big part of Johnson’s success in Hollywood. She was a producer for most of his 2010s movies. Taking charge of the Seven Bucks Production company as well, Garcia, Johnson, and others devised Johnson’s takeover of Hollywood. First, they planned his movie dates and promotion dates in a way that Johnson would never be out of work.

When he was shooting a movie, he was also involved in promoting his previous work. This way there was a continuous cycle of movies coming out of Seven Bucks with Johnson at the helm. Soon after he became the highest-paid actor in the world. But that wasn’t all, both Garcia and Johnson started multiple businesses, supporting each other once again, finally leading to them buying the XFL, which was a major achievement for Garcia.
