Zelina Vega arrived on Monday Night Raw 07/15 full of hopes and desires. But little did she know that her way of getting to the WWE Women’s World Championship would be filled with hardships! Sonya Deville returned to the roster last Monday and reunited with some old friends. This week, she won a match against Zelina Vega.

Although the match didn’t last long enough, it was probably put on the card for storyline purposes. However, there was an interesting detail that some of you may or may not have noticed while watching the Red Brand show.

Zelina Vega likes to take care of her skin

Before the match, the LWO representative entered the arena first, and right after that, Deville’s theme song played. While Vega was still waiting for her opponent to walk down to the squared circle, the camera moved to her and showed her applying Vaseline to her face. This may have confused some fans and if you were one of them, we have got you covered.

She was most probably using petroleum jelly for exactly what it was supposed to be normally used, moisturizing the skin. Zelina Vega may have waited until the beginning of the match for this minor skincare step because this way, it would last longer.

Another reason why the wrestler of Puerto Rican descent was rubbing Vaseline on her face was to save herself from most of the scratches that she could potentially get on her face while wrestling against Sonya Deville, especially if the latter had longer nails.

The match, however, didn’t last long as the LWO member slipped away from the victory because Sonya Deville’s friends helped her resulting in the shortest match on Monday Night Raw 07/15.

Vega’s title shot is not off to a good start

The female talent has been eyeing the Women’s World Champion for quite some time now. This has led her to start feuding with Liv Morgan as well. On the 07/01 episode of Monday Night Raw, we saw her challenge Morgan for a title match. Although things could have ended in Vega’s favor, Dominik Mysterio didn’t let that happen. He was in the arena to lay a beating on his ‘Deadbeat’ father. Instead, he accidentally ended up helping Morgan retain her title against Zelina Vega by interfering in the match without the intention of doing so.

This feud grew into a mixed tag team match that went down last Monday in which Vega and her tag partner lost again to Morgan and Mysterio. And now, WWE booked her to lose once more against a returning wrestler while the former was trying to make a point that she is the ‘next in line’ whenever Mami settles her personal dispute with the reigning Women’s World Champion. So, now it appears that she may not be entering the competition directly for some time before regaining her confidence.
